Abstract
Purpose: In this study, we measured the contact angle of central zone(optic zone) and printed periphery zone in cosmetic color contact lens, and we recognized to decrease the wettability by the pigment.

Methods: We measured the contact angle of central zone and peripheral zone in cosmetic color contact lens by sessile drop method.

Results: In case of -3.50D, central zone and peripheral zone were measured by 54.55¡¾3.88¡Æ and 74.23¡¾2.76¡Æ. Peripheral zone was measured higher than central zone about 19.68¡Æ. In case of -5.50D, central zone and peripheral zone were measured by 54.37¡¾4.53¡Æ and 73.84¡¾2.36¡Æ. Peripheral zone was measured higher than central zone about 19.47¡Æ and has statistically significant difference(p = 0.00).

Conclusions: These results should that the wettability and biocompatibility of the surfaces in cosmetic color contact lens decrease caused by using hydrophobic pigments.
